{DIY} BRAIDED PONYTAIL TUTORIAL

Abby from My Yellow Sandbox

September 20, 2012
Hello there Time Out For Women lovers! What a fun experience to be posting here today!   My name is Abby- I'm the crazy blonde behind the blog My Yellow Sandbox.
I post hairstyles, beauty tips, crafts, my favorite pins, and stories about my life as a mother of two. Speaking of being a mother- I'm pretty sure it's just about the hardest job in the entire world.  Boston wakes me up at 7:00 am.  He's naked.  Wants me to help him put on a shirt.  Who knows when he woke up or what he's been doing for the past who knows how long!  I peel my eyes open, so tired from being up with the baby all night, and help him find the hole for his head.  The little diva in the second bedroom has started talking and I slowly go in to get her.  Meanwhile, Boston has gotten all his legos out and scattered them across the floor.  And so it begins.  Breakfast needs to be made, clothes need to be washed, floors need to be vacuumed and babies need to stay happy and entertained all day long.  I never know if I'll actually have time to shower!  It's definitely not a glamorous job, but at the end of a long day I have two beautiful children who are happy and who love me like crazy.

In the chaos that is motherhood, it's easy to forget who you are as a person.  It's easy to forget those little things that make you happy.   It is important for me to get ready every now and then... to put on normal clothes and just feel like a regular person who doesn't really live in dirty sweat pants and a milk stained t shirt from college.  Even though there is no where else I'd rather be than in the home I crave to feel like I am more than a stay at home mom.  Ya know?  Because my hair was my best and cheapest accessory I decided to start doing it.  I started my 30 do's in 30 day's challenge.  4,000 followers and a book later I feel like I am able to share and help women to feel better about themselves.  To feel as pretty as they are.  Hopefully.  That is the goal anyway!  Blogging keeps me busy doing something that I love and because I'm a happy person, I'm a better and happier mother.

Today's hairstyle is dedicated to the busy mom.  It's quick, easy and out of your face.
I call it the Braided Ponytail AKA Jillian Michaels Ponytail.  I was inspired by the pony she sports on her ripped in 30 dvd's.  They're great by the way!  Ha, not that I have time to do them!! ha ha!!
I hope you enjoy this tutorial!  If you wanna stop by my corner of the internet sometime I'd love to have you!
