Facing something uncomfortable?

Hello Friends!

Happy Spring! We hope you had a wonderful General Conference weekend and a beautiful Easter! This time of yer represents new beginnings in nature wit hthe return of green and blooms and new life all around us! It is not surprising that many of us use this season to start fresh.

Nature never stays the same, and neither do we! This is by diving design. We are meant to change, grow, and evolve. In fact, it could be argued that it is impossible to follow Christ and stay stagnant. What a gift!

Event if it is a diving attribute, change can eb uncomfortable for so many reasons. In this most recent conference, Elder Craig Christensen said, “…joy and comfort are not the same thing. Sin—including the sing of complacency—limits our joy.”

Do we want to be comfortable or joyful!?

As we face our weaknesses, shortcomings, and other challenges in life it can be easy to feel overwhelmed and discouraged. Sometimes we even trick ourselves into believing that being hard on ourselves is an essential part of motivation for change. Christ offers a better way!

“The God of heaven and earth will help us overcome discouragement and whatever obstacles we encounter if we look to Him, follow the promptings of the Holy Ghost, and just keep going—with faith.” Elder Carl B. Cook

God wants us to experience joy—and an essential part of that is growth. And he doesn’t expect us to do it alone! Our desire to improve is God-given. Our yearning for growth is inspired! Whatever it is you are working to overcome right now, trust that Christ is in it with you. Here are a few things that will help!

Things to help you overcome. Feel better in 5.

  1. Christ provides solutions we can’t even imagine. It’s okay if we can’t figure it out!

    • “As we accept the Savior’s invitation to come unto Him, we soon realize that our best is good enough and that the grace of a loving Savior will make up the difference in ways we cannot imagine.” Elder Vern P. Standill

  2. There is nothing exempt from Christ’s power.

    • “The Savior’s healing and redeeming power applies to accidental mistakes, poor decisions, challenges, and trials of every kind—as well as to our sins.” Elder Peter F. Meurs

  3. Positive motivation is Godly motivation. We don’t have to beat ourselves up in order to improve.

    • “God’s love is an empowering and motivating love.” Virginia Pearce Cowley

  4. Trust your diving identity.

    • “As we remember who we are, knowing that there is a diving plan of mercy and drawing courage in the strength of the Lord, we can do all things.” Elder Mark A. Bragg

  5. Growth and progress are the path to peace and joy!

    • “Sin—including the of complacency—limits our joy.” Elder Craig Christensen

“When we choose to repent, we choose to change! We allow the Savior to transform us into the best version of ourselves. We choose to grow spiritually and receive joy—the joy of redemption in HIm. When we choose to repent, we choose to become more like Jesus Christ!” - President Nelson

We can do this! Together!
