How to find daily wonder

Hi friends!

Laundry, carpool, walks, dishes. Disappointments, delights, tears, laughter. In all your many things, was it easy to find joy today?

Maria Eckersley shared, “The world makes happiness seem so hard. Happiness is what you get every day you pick it.”  Because we are women of faith, we know that even when life isn't easy, there is joy to be found in Christ and through Christ.

It isn’t a platitude—Jesus is the answer! When He is the first one we turn to, we find what we need, even if it isn’t what we expected. Mindy Brown said it this way, “By focusing on Christ—and working with Him—we can learn to love life, even when it’s hard.”

It might feel like things were better a few years ago, or that life will be easier in the imagined future, but Christ can, and will, make this a day of joy. Kristin M. Yee said, “As you trust your life to Him, your love for Him will grow. I know that He knows you and that your path is known to Him.”

And that’s a wonderful thing.

Feel Better in 5! How to find daily wonder

  • See the amazing:

    • We find what we look for. So, why not look for everyday amazement that brings us joy? When someone we love walks in the room, isn’t it amazing to see them? When we read the scriptures, isn’t it amazing to find guidance? When you look in the mirror, isn’t it amazingly wonderful to know God loves you?

  • Honor your path:

    • You’ve accomplished a lot, and you’ll do so much more. It might not all seem perfect, but trust that you’re perfectly placed where you’re needed and appreciated. You are a wonder.

  • Accept and extend grace:

    • Christ noticed the widow give her small offering and He does the same for us. Through His grace we are each made wonderful. “Where sin abounded, grace did much more abound.” (Romans 5:20) Christ overcame all; His grace abounds for us.

  • Let God help:

    • God wants to help us, and He expands our efforts. The same God who provided the miracle of feeding 5000 from 5 loaves and 2 fishes can multiply what we give and how we serve. Kristin M. Yee said, “There is relief in partnering with God.” It’s a wonder what God can do!

  • Trust your significance:

    • Each of us matters and is known by God. There isn’t a competition for who is most important in His eyes. We can applaud and cheer for each other because each of us makes a difference (is a wonder) in our own special way.
