Dealing with some uncomfortable feelings?

Hello Friends!

Have you ever thought about the lengths we go to trying to avoid discomfort? In our modern world, we have all sorts of things specifically designed to make us comfortable in all circumstances.

But all the high-tech comforts in the world can’t save us from all discomfort. And that’s a good thing!

Think of a baby chick working hard to break out of its shell. Watching the struggle, it is natural to want to relieve the suffering and break it out! But if we did that the chick wouldn’t have the necessary strength to survive. It is in the hard work of breaking free the chick gains the strength to survive.

Things to remember when something uncomfy! Feel better in 5!

1 - Don’t fight it! The quickest way out is through!

2 - Trust that it won’t always feel this way.

3 - It’s hard because it’s hard-not because you’re the worst.

4 - You don’t have to face this alone

5 - Hold to internal peace over circumstantial peace.

It is often through discomfort that we are personally invited to come to Christ and rely on HIm. As we learn to sit with discomfort our capacity for joy and resilience increases!

As tempting as it is to listen to the messages preaching that the comfortable way is the best way, we must remember that true peace, joy, faith, and growth are all on the other side of discomfort. Let’s lean in and help each other through it!

LET’S EMBRACE DISCOMFORT AND TRUST THAT IT IS FOR OUR GOOD!
